A BLADE LOST IN DARKNESS

A sparkle from afar
Says death comes near
And in an instant
I fall, unmoving.

The light around me fades
As the darkness devours
The whole of me as
I fall, unmoving.

Warmth now escapes
From my unfeeling chest,
The blade's bloody sheath.
I fall, unmoving.

The untimely fusion
Of steel and flesh forges
A blade lost in darkness as
I fall, unmoving.
